Frankie’s believes in the power of sprouted grains. The process of sprouting a grain unlocks its full nutritional benefits. We choose to use sprouted quinoa and sprouted brown rice. Sprouted grains are grains that have just begun to sprout! The sprouting process means taking the extra time to nurture them during the germination process, this helps them break down starches that can lead to digestive issues. We are all about doing what is right, not what’s easy. Sprouting your grains helps break down phytic acid which decreases the absorption vitamins & minerals. Sprouted grains have been proven to contain more vitamins, nutrients and are more flavourful than regular grains! Sprouted grains are a whole-grain seed that has just started growing but it is not a plant yet. When you sprout your grain- we use quinoa & brown rice- we are breaking down the starch that is on the grains outer shell. Since we break down the starch, it makes the grain more nutrient rich. It also breaks down phytate, a form of phytic acid that inhibits our bodies to absorb vitamins and minerals. A sprouted grain is more nutrient dense and it is much easier to digest!
